The Legal Adventure: Politics 199

One of my favorite talks I present to law student groups is entitled "What Happens When You Give Your Law License to God?"  More than anything else, it's a personal testimony of the wonderful life journey God has accompanied me on as a Christian lawyer.

Now, an exciting new phase of that journey is opening as I've officially become a candidate for the Pennsylvania State Legislature (199th District). I'm running in the Republican primary and election day is May 18.

For those who'd like to learn more about the race and my platform, my campaign website is www.StephenLBloom.com

I welcome your prayers, your volunteer involvement, and your financial support!

(you need not be a Pennsylvania resident to help or give)

What unexpected doors has your law license opened to you?

  2. Congrats Stephen!

Found you while googling for Christian lawyers on the web. You probably don't remember me, but we ate lunch together in downtown Carlisle years ago when I was a practicing Financial Planner in PA. I live in Northern CA now, and work as a Tax Accountant in a Christian firm and still doing Christian based financial planning.

Will be following your blog. I have been in Law School by correspondence since 2007. California allows it with registered law schools, and you have to take the "Baby Bar," the first year (but I finished two years of the four year program), which I did not pass the first time (great money maker for the state). Then decided to enroll at the University of London, external degree program and just took finals. If I passed, I will enter my final year this fall.

Anyway, keep us posted about your campaign, we (my wife and I) are very politically involved in the Republican Party. I helped organize a local civic organization and then helped form the PAC for them www.northbaypatriots.com

  3. Hi Again,

I see the AD for Meg Whitman for Governor on this site. Just to let you know, us true Conservatives are not endorsing her.

Meg Whitman is not really pro-life, and she allowed adult only (pornography) to be sold on ebay in the name of free enterprise! She wittingly said in an interview, that she didn't understand why conservatives objected to this form of free market!!

Unfortunately, us true Conservatives don't have much of a choice for Governor in this state. Miller is a better choice, but doesn't have the momentum, Poisner may be who we end up having to vote for, but not without reservation. Definitely not Campbell.

Old Republican politics here have endorsed those candidates us true Conservatives do not want. We want Chuck DeVore to replace Boxer and not the moderate to left Carli Fiorini.

    Thanks,

    Ron Benjamin

  4. This is the most Godless administration America has EVER had. Men such as yourself need to be in politics and winning elections with the Christian vote.

  5. A good family lawyer is to make sure that you get your fair share of the assets. When the marriage ends it will be necessary to divide the assets, this inevitably results in disagreements. In addition most cases will also require the payment of alimony to one of the parties. This makes coming up with a settlement even more problematic. The only way that you are going to make sure that you get your fair share is if you have a lawyer who is able to protect your rights and ensure that you get a reasonable judgment.

  6. Most family lawyers provide free consultations to clients where they explain the legal approaches toward a court case. You can use this opportunity to ask questions of lawyers about court experiences and specialities within family law, as well as gaining information about the type of client they usually represent and rates charged.

  7. When people make a transition in sales, they assume that because they sold in one arena, they can sell in another just as easily. But that’s not necessarily true of the insurance industry. The transition can be especially difficult for those coming from an inbound sales position for instance, selling home improvements to customer leads generated by telemarketers.
